CharlieFarleysBikeTours in collaboration with Adventure Heist

We’ll start in Delhi and Agra, taking in the Taj Mahal and Delhi’s motorcycle market, before flying into Leh for six days of riding through Ladakh on Royal Enfield Himalayan 450s. Think mountain passes, monasteries, lakes and a night in remote Hanle.

8 September — Arrive in Delhi
Meet the Adventure Heist team and CharlieFarleysBikeTours tour lead at the airport and transfer to our hotel. There’s time to settle in before we get together for a welcome dinner. Overnight in Delhi.

9–10 September — Agra Fort and the Taj Mahal
Travel by road to Agra for an overnight stay. The programme includes time at Agra Fort and a visit to the Taj Mahal before we return to Delhi. We’ll share the exact sightseeing order once timings are finalised.

11 September — Delhi’s motorcycles, monuments and markets
Explore the motorcycle shops of Karol Bagh, visit India Gate and Kartavya Path, and take in the carved stonework at Akshardham Temple. Overnight in Delhi.

12 September — Fly from Delhi to Leh
We’ll fly into Leh (11562ft) and transfer to our hotel. The rest of the day is set aside for settling in and resting at altitude.

13 September — Acclimatisation and bike familiarisation in Leh
Take it easy in Leh, with optional sightseeing if appropriate. Meet our ride marshal, get acquainted with your Himalayan 450 and go through the route, riding and altitude briefing before we set off.

14 September — Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La · Approx. 125 km
Cross Khardung La (17582ft) and descend into Nubra Valley. Visit Diskit Monastery and its giant Buddha, with time for the Hunder sand dunes if the day allows. Overnight in Hunder or Diskit.

15 September — Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake · Approx. 175 km
Follow the Shyok River through the valley to Pangong Lake, where we’ll spend the night near the water.

16 September — Pangong Lake to Hanle · Approx. 175 km
Ride via Chushul and Tsaga La to remote Hanle, home to the Indian Astronomical Observatory. If time and access allow, we may visit Hanle Monastery. We’ll spend the night in a local homestay, with a chance to stargaze if the skies are clear.

Hanle is where the Indian Astronomical Observatory is situated so the area is the perfect place to watch the stars!

17 September — Umling La ride from Hanle · Up to approx. 220 km
We’ll aim for Umling La (19024ft) subject to permits, weather, road conditions and how the group is doing at altitude. Mig La (19400ft) is possible only if access for foreign riders is officially authorised and conditions allow. We’ll return to Hanle for the night.

Ride via Nyoma and Mahe to Tso Moriri. If time and access allow, we’ll visit Korzok village and its monastery. Overnight near the lake.
