MAGICAL MADEIRA MOTORCYCLE ADVENTURE WITH CHARLIE

Seven nights above Funchal! A fabulous week of winding roads, mountain views, colourful flowers and relaxed island life—with time for coffee stops, delicious lunches and a dip in the hotel pool!
We’ll stay in a beautiful four-star hotel high above Funchal, with views across the city towards the Atlantic. Breakfast, parking and a swimming pool make this a lovely base for our adventures.
SATURDAY 26 JUNE — WELCOME TO MADEIRA!
Arrive in Madeira and transfer to our hotel. Unpack, enjoy the views and settle into island life. We’ll get together for a welcome chat and discuss the week’s riding over dinner.
SUNDAY 27 JUNE — BIKES & A COASTAL TOOTLE
Collect our hire motorcycles, complete the handover and get comfortable with the bikes. Our first ride takes us towards Câmara de Lobos and Ribeira Brava, with coastal views, café stops and a relaxed introduction to Madeira’s bends!
MONDAY 28 JUNE — NUN’S VALLEY
Head into the mountains towards Curral das Freiras—the spectacular Nun’s Valley. We’ll stop at Eira do Serrado for views into the valley, then continue down to the village for lunch and a wander before returning to our hotel.
TUESDAY 29 JUNE — PAUL DA SERRA & THE WEST
Ride west through Ponta do Sol and towards Calheta before climbing onto the open roads of the Paul da Serra plateau. A day of changing scenery, mountain bends and plenty of photo stops, with a leisurely lunch before our return to Funchal.
WEDNESDAY 30 JUNE — FUNCHAL & TIME TO RELAX
A day off the bikes to explore Funchal at your own pace. Wander through the old town, enjoy the gardens, browse the shops or simply settle beside the hotel pool. Optional activities can be arranged separately.
THURSDAY 1 JULY — NORTH COAST ADVENTURE
Explore towards São Vicente, Seixal and Porto Moniz, enjoying the dramatic scenery of Madeira’s north coast. We’ll stop for lunch and allow time to enjoy Porto Moniz. Bring your swimming things if you fancy visiting the natural pools, conditions permitting!
FRIDAY 2 JULY — PICO DO AREEIRO & A FINAL RIDE
Our final riding day takes us towards Pico do Areeiro, choosing our route to suit mountain weather and visibility. Expect winding roads, mountain scenery and time to savour our last day on two wheels. We’ll return the motorcycles according to the agreed hire arrangements, then get together for a farewell dinner.
SATURDAY 3 JULY — HOMEWARD BOUND
Breakfast, packing and airport transfers for our flights home—with plenty of memories and photographs to take with us!
SMALL GROUP A friendly CharlieFarleys getaway for just eight people, with relaxed riding, plenty of laughs and time to enjoy the island. Madeira’s roads include steep gradients and tight bends. Riders should feel comfortable handling these on their chosen hire motorcycle.

Charlie can assist with these arrangements. This is our proposed itinerary. The order of riding days and routes may change to suit weather, road access, motorcycle hire arrangements and the group.
