Jurassic Coast and Portland Pudding Run

from £345.00

Friday 30 April–Monday 3 May 2027

Three nights based near Portland Bill, Dorset.

Day 1 — Friday: East Midlands to Portland Bill.

Meet for breakfast and a quick tour brief at Matlock Bath, then head south-west down through the Cotswolds and Dorset lanes. We’ll stop for lunch en route and finally ride across the causeway onto Portland. Settle into our accommodation, then a sunset stroll to the Eight Kings for dinner or ride down to Portland Bill Lighthouse.

Day 2 — Saturday: The Portland Pudding Run

A full day of Dorset’s best little roads: Portland, Chesil Beach, Abbotsbury, Cerne Abbas, Milton Abbas and the glorious lanes around the Purbeck Hills. We’ll finish at Corfe Castle for photographs, coffee and a proper pub stop, before returning to Portland via the coast. Expect bends, big views and cake stops.

Day 3 — Sunday: Jurassic Coast, Fossils & Sea Air

Ride west along the coast to West Bay, Bridport and Charmouth — the heart of the Jurassic Coast. There’ll be time for a wander on the beach and, for anyone keen, a fossil-hunting session at Charmouth (a guided walk can be added if available). Then on to Lyme Regis for lunch by The Cobb before a scenic inland ride back to Portland. Charmouth is one of the best places to find fossils on the Jurassic Coast, and its Heritage Coast Centre runs guided walks. There are options to go out sea kayaking if anybody is interested.

Day 4 — Monday: Lulworth, Durdle Door & Home

After breakfast, our final run takes us through Weymouth and over to Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door for those classic Jurassic Coast views. Then it’s time to turn north for the ride home, full of sea air, fossils, photos and pudding.

This is an affordable, sociable long weekend: fantastic roads, no frantic daily mileage, and plenty of time for coffee, cake, pubs and proper exploring. Portland is a cracking base — wild, rugged and right beside Chesil Beach and the coast.

For the Jurassic Coast & Portland Pudding Run:

• Double room, single occupancy: £495

• Single bed in a twin room: £345 pp

• Double room, two sharing: £595 per room — £297.50 each

What’s included:

Three nights’ accommodation, guided riding, GPS routes, a tour video and a CharlieFarleys welcome.

Not included: Fuel, meals, drinks, personal spending and any optional activities.
